Elf Cosmetics

Hello beautiful,

While out shopping a couple weekends ago I came across some e.l.f products that I've been wanting to try. Living in New York in the fall and winter can leave my skin dry so a hydrating primer is much needed. I have used the illuminating primer from e.l.f and it was amazing. It didn’t leave my skin glittery or shiny. So when I saw that e.l.f. have a hydrating primer I just had to try it. I purchased the hydrating primer as well as the setting powder in sheer.

After about 2 weeks of continuous wear, I am in love with the hydrating primer. It feels good on the skin and the makeup wears well on top of it with a flawless finish, the skin looked smooth. I’ve used it with dewy and matte foundations and both have lasted a full work day. This primer reminds me of Benefit Cosmetics: The POREfessional Face Primer (currently $31.00 at Ulta) and the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer (currently $6.99 at Ulta). In that they had the same silicone feel and pore erasing affect. My pores looked smaller and didnt look so noticeable.

The setting powder, however, I was not a fan of. I had a bright white cast under my eyes and on my face when I was trying to set my concealer. I tried to set it with a setting spray after and still had the white under my eyes.

So, I would definitely recommend the e.l.f. hydrating primer but I would pass on the setting powder. Instead, I'd recommend either using a foundation powder or a setting spray.
