Self Tanning, My first time

It has been a long time coming, I have always suffered from having such a beautiful tan on my arms and glowing skin on my face. Weather it be a day at the beach or a day out at the park running around with the kids. My Upper body gets all bronzy, my legs on the oter hand are always white as snow. After looking over tanning beds and spray tan options, I decided let me just go with the traditional self tanner. I know scary right. 

I looked online for the best drug store self tanner, there were so many to choose from. I ended up purchased two the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes and the Neutrogena MicroMist Airbrush Sunless Tan Self-Tanning Spray. I tried the Neutrogena spray first on my mid section just a spot test and after 2-3 hours I didnt see much. I ended up diving into the towlettes, WOW! They do work. 

Unfortuantly I ended up with one white leg and one tan leg, as you can see in the photo to your right. The packaging does say to use sparingly around ankles, knees and elbows. Which I made sure to do, I was pleasently supprised at how much I enjoyed the result. Well that goes for the leg that actually got tanned. The next day I applied a layer on the white leg and now I have two even legs. With this I would recommend using one towelette on each side of the body. 

My feet on the other hand... Not so great. I looked online to see how to lighten up the tan. I was given so many options. Use backing soda, use lemon and exfoliate the skin.

I used my body scrub from Lush and it worked wonders. Feet not so orange and it also helped with some minor streaking that can happen. Being that his was my first time self tanning I was happy with the outcome. 

Overall, I think this was an interesting experiance. the hubby did make fun of my one white leg for the rest of the day, happy he had fun too lol.  Taking care of my skin has always been important, for the moms out there that are expecting and also want to know whether tanning can be safe while pregnant.
