Birthday- During Covie-19 pandemic

Since our government officials told us that it would be in our best interest and those around us, it was best to stay indoors. We have been staying indoors anyway, but when we heard that all nonessential businesses were to close, and only essential stores would remain open. Like most Anxiety does tend to take over, trying to stay calm, especially when you have little ones around is necessary. With everything going on in the world, this meant that we would not be able to celebrate our oldest's birthday the way we usually celebrate her birthday, which was sad but alright for everyone's health and safety.

Due to our local bakery closing its doors (so sad), I made her cake from scratch; she wanted a Neapolitan style cake. Two layers of Chocolate cake and one vanilla, the filling was strawberry, and the butter frosting will be vanilla. We celebrated her birthday while social distancing from our family and friends. With their support, we sang her happy birthday through FaceTime.

We had wanted to do a big party for her because she was turning the BIG 10 double-digit, this could be a big deal for any kid. I was surprised how well she took it when we explained that we wouldn’t be able to have her party and that her friends and family wouldn’t be able to join. I won’t lie. I started to cry in the morning. I felt horrible but know that it was for everyone’s safety.

For all those that are celebrating a birthday during these difficult time, Happy Birthday.
