Cleaning Makeup Brushes
Everyone has different techniques for cleaning their makeup brushes. For a while I would clean my brushes with plain soap ("Hispano"). It did the job and left my brushes clean but I wanted something less harsh on my brushes and sponges. I looked online for an alternative and found brush cleaners. Here are some of those brush cleaners. They end up being just too much money for too little product:
Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner 2oz $8.00
BN Ben Nye Makeup Brush Cleaner 8oz $16.00
Eco Tools Makeup Brush Shampoo 6oz $7.99
It Cosmetics Brush Bath Purifying Brush Cleaner 3.4oz $18.00
MAC Brush Cleanser 7.9oz $16.00
While taking a trip to my local Pro beauty shop I came across Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Liquid Soap - Baby Unscented. I paid $8.99 for 16oz and Amazon has it for $12.99 as of this writing.
A little goes a long way. What I do is pour a little bit into a glass cup, add water, take the dirty brush and dip into the solution, swirl the brush on my cleansing pad and clean. My brushes end up clean and soft. I absolutely love this stuff.
