Summer Planning with Mommypoppins.com

Now I completely understand why people become teachers. One to help mold the young minds of our future leaders but also for the SUMMER!

Having summers off was always a dream of mine, I always wanted to be able to enjoy the summer with the kids. When my oldest was born I stayed home with her for her first summer, she was still a baby. After that I was working and spending days at the beach or pool was out of the question. I did have the luxury of taking her with me to work but what kid wants to be at a job all summer with no other kids around. Now with three kids in school, I am finally off for the summer. I spent all January, February and March figuring out what I would be doing for the summer with the kids. While also working on the blog, the podcast and creating content for instagram.

There are so many things we will be doing, the girls came up with the idea of seeing all the playgrounds in the bronx. I thought that was so interesting, so we sat down and I asked them what they wanted to do this summer. On the summer agenda is Playground, Zoo trips, Community Gardens, Beaches, Pools and Museum trips. Summer planning can be a daunting things but after I spent some time online I found this amazing website that helps with finding things to do all summer with the kids all over the city. Mommypoppins.com

A couple of things that we found on the site and will be attending were:

Saturday, July 13 Hit the city shoreline and the water beyond for one of our favorite annual fests, City of Water Day, featuring boat rides and a Disney-sponsored family festival. The best part: It's all FREE, though boat rides require advance registration and a small deposit.

Tuesday, July 16 Head to the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park to see rockets take flight in Mad Science: The Summertime Rocket Show.

Thursday, July 25 Hit the water with free kayaking at two Brooklyn waterfront spots: Red Hook's Louis Valentino Jr. Park and Pier and Brooklyn Bridge Park's Boathouse.

These are directly from the website. If your home with the kids and don’t know about Mommypoppins, I would definitely recommend. Its not just for summer it’s all year round with great ideas on what to do with kids, upcoming events that kids will enjoy and it works for all ages.

Can’t wait to share our experiences this summer.
