The month of June
As a parent time goes by so fast now, before having children I would have begged for time to go quickly. Now I am begging for more hours in the day to finish projects and take a nice long shower. The month of June is always a crazy month at home for us but this was especially crazy with B and MJ being in school for the first time. Making appointments with the teachers, celebrating graduations from Preschool for B, getting MJ’s summer schedule since he is in an eleventh-month school program.
Making gifts for the girl's teachers, which they wanted to go crazy with Summer gift baskets. I explained that we did not need to go crazy so we made some cute gifts with mason jars filled with a cute key chain and summer trinkets for their teachers. There were projects that needed to be finished for school. Also, the launch of my podcast was at the end of May and I was working on that to ensure I was doing the right thing. I am still working on that lol.
B’s birthday party was at the end of the month, which I slacked on planning, I spoke about this on the podcast but I felt overwhelmed honestly. I will be creating a post about her birthday which will be up this week. I did some DIY stuff for her party that I wanted to share. Also, the anniversary of my mothers passing was this month and it felt harder this year than it did the last couple years. I miss her so much more around this time of year. She would have loved to see the girls dance at their recital which was also this month.
This year the girls were taking two classes each, which last year it was just one class each. B this years was taking tap/ballet and tumblebug which is like gymnastics. My oldest this year was taking Jazz/Tap and Ballet, her Tap/Jazz class decided they would do two numbers. This meant instead of two costume changes for my oldest, she needs three costumes. B only had two which I was happy with until we got closer to the show. She grows so much that I requested them to order the costume for B one size up. Once the costumes came in, it fit her fine with some space. When it came to picture day her costume was already snug and we were a week away from the show. I was so scared it wouldn’t fit or ripe while she was on stage, I was actually hoping she didn’t grow within a week.
Luckily enough the costume fit for the show and didn’t rip, thank goodness! The show went great. Now that school year is over and the kids are home we are back to normal. Nothing crazy planned… I hope.
