Target's Adaptive Clothing

The idea as a parent is that we can shop anywhere for kids clothing. There are so many places to go, Walmart, K-Mart, Children’s Place, Old Navy, Good Will, The Salvation Army, Gap and many more. When I had B she was a chunky kid and leggings was all she wore. As she got bigger and along with the Cerebral Palsy diagnosis I understood why jeans were not comfortable for her. Putting on a simple jacket took her about 10-15 min to get it on and she would be tired and annoyed by the end. When having a child with a disability things like shopping for clothes can be a pain. I have two with disabilities, M has Autism and things like tags or clothing that feels soft on the outside and not on the inside drives him bananas. You will see him fidget and pull away at his clothing.

Places that would sell clothing without tags made life simpler and I think some companies have caught on. Children’s Place and Old navy have gotten rid of back tags which is awesome but they do have inside tags on the bottom of the shirt. They have created softer jeans for kids, but are limited in color and style, and cost more. Target sells a line from Cat and Jacks called the Adaptive Line made for special needs. Making it easier to put the clothing on as well as being functional for kids with special needs. I’ve purchased several things and B absolutely loves the clothing, she looks girly and feels great.

With Jeans that are soft and stretch M can run around and not feel like he is wearing sand paper. Lets face it when your kids are more comfortable in their clothes you as a parent feel more at ease. Using the bathroom and potty training is easier with the side sip and the comfy elastic waist band. The icing on the cake is that the price point is amazing, they managed to create a line for special needs kids without charging more like other companies do. I have already recommended this line to friends and family that have children with special needs. I love it and most important my kids love the way they feel in them, which makes me a vary happy mommy.
