Our Time Together

Our Time Together .jpg

Our time together as a couple doesn't consist of the normal breakfast in the morning or dinner at night. Our time together is short but ever so sweet. We spend roughly 3 hours awake with each other. A train ride together if our morning schedules align, a treasured moment when we laugh and joke with one another, or making fun of people on the train which, in my opinion, sometimes is the best.

At night if there are no extended work deadlines or projects that need to be tweeked, our time together consist of trying to make sure the little ones are all in bed on time. Finally when they all are, we sneak into the living room and enjoy some TV time which is actually him watching the end of something while I lay alseep on the couch. As busy parents we have learned that our time doesn’t consist of long walks in the park or romantic dates to a fancy restaurant. It isn’t really who we are. But a moment of silence where it's just the brush of his shoulder on my cheek as I fall asleep or a kiss on my cheek which he knows always makes me blush even when I am upset.

Weekends are filled with dance classes, trips to the library, breaking up fights between four girls over the same-looking doll, and our son who runs way from his big sisters the moment he notices any change in their tone. We find a moment in-between to give a little squeeze, lol. Our time is funny, even as I write this down to share with you, my time with him is not the same as any time I have ever spent with anyone. There is no need for words, no warning messages as to who had the worst day. A look of that shows and tells you that no matter what “I've got you.” All that's needed in our time.
