Revamping our living room unit.

D.I.Y is always inspiring, being able to transform something into a beautiful piece. I have a dresser that has been passed through our family for what seems maybe over 20 years. It belonged to a dear friend of my sisters for several years, then was pasted to my niece for several years then I’ve had it for about a little over 14 years. So yes, it has truly been loved. This year with being stuck indoors I could finally do what I have been wanting to, revamp this very loved dresser. Back in August, we picked up some knobs for the dresser. We had already had white paint at home. These items just stayed in the house for another three months, One day I finally just said what the heck.

I removed the drawers and the knobs before getting started. I sanded down the drawers to ensure a smooth finish. When I started I painted one drawer which was a mistake because I had to wait till it dried to take it out. It took three coats of paint on each drawer to get it to the color I wanted.

After everything was dried I put the new knobs on them and put the drawers back. I didn’t want to paint the top because I wanted to place some marble contact paper on it.

This finished look had me blown away. I was so proud of myself, I really thought I would mess it up.
